The short version
- Your reflections, dreams, photos, voice recordings, transcripts, and garden content are stored on your device.
- We use limited pseudonymous analytics and diagnostic data to understand usage, improve performance, and fix crashes.
- Apple and RevenueCat process purchase information so subscriptions and paid features work.
- We do not sell personal information, show third-party ads, or use your journal content for advertising.
1. Information that stays on your device
Day Bloom stores the content you create locally on your device and in the app group shared with Day Bloom widgets. This may include:
- Daily Seeds, intentions, dreams, focus areas, and garden progress;
- journal Moments, check-ins, moods, and reflection text;
- photos and voice recordings that you choose to add;
- on-device voice transcripts; and
- preferences, reminder settings, and appearance choices.
We do not intentionally send this personal content to Firebase, PostHog, or RevenueCat. Voice transcription is requested as an on-device operation. Your content leaves the app only when you choose an action that requires it, such as sharing an image or sending a support email with an attachment.
2. Information collected automatically
Day Bloom collects limited technical and product-usage information. It is associated with random or device-scoped identifiers rather than the journal content described above.
Product interaction
App opens, screens or features used, button actions, Daily Seed interactions, and similar events that help us understand whether the app is useful.
Device and app details
App version, iOS version, device model, language or locale, installation identifier, and general network or country information derived from an IP address.
Performance and diagnostics
Launch and response timing, hangs, thermal state, memory or disk summaries, crash stack traces, and related diagnostic details.
We use this information to operate Day Bloom, measure feature quality, diagnose faults, prevent abuse, improve accessibility and performance, and make product decisions. We do not use it to build an advertising profile or track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
3. Analytics and crash reporting
We use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and PostHog to help us understand app performance and reliability. Depending on the app version and the features enabled, these services may receive the product-interaction, device, installation, performance, and crash information described above.
PostHog is used for product analytics. Day Bloom does not send journal text, photos, or audio as analytics event properties. We do not enable session replay on screens that contain personal journal content. Where replay is used for limited interface diagnostics, text inputs and sensitive content must be masked before data is transmitted.
Detailed Apple MetricKit diagnostic files are kept on your device. They are attached to a support email only when you choose to report a problem and send that email. Smaller aggregated performance summaries may be sent as analytics events automatically.
4. Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment-card information. RevenueCat helps Day Bloom validate purchases and provide Day Bloom Plus features. Apple and RevenueCat may process product identifiers, purchase and renewal history, subscription status, transaction dates, storefront details, and a random or account-related app user identifier.
5. Information you choose to send us
If you contact support, we receive your email address, message, and any content or diagnostic attachment you choose to include. The app may prepare a support email with the app version, iOS version, and general device model. Nothing is sent until you send the email.
6. Device permissions
Day Bloom asks for a permission only when it supports a feature you choose to use. You can change permissions in iOS Settings.
- Camera and Photos: add a photo to a Moment or save a garden image.
- Microphone: record a private voice Moment.
- Speech recognition: create an on-device transcript when supported by your device and language.
- Motion: provide gentle visual movement as you tilt your device.
- Notifications: deliver Daily Seed reminders and check-ins you request.
Day Bloom does not require access to your precise location, contacts, calendar, or health data.

8. Retention and deletion
Local Day Bloom content remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app. Support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to respond, maintain reasonable business records, and meet legal obligations.
Analytics and purchase records are retained according to our settings, operational needs, and provider agreements. Firebase states that Crashlytics crash traces and associated identifiers are generally kept for 90 days before removal begins. Some records may be retained longer when required for security, fraud prevention, accounting, or law.
To request access to or deletion of information held through our service providers, email us. We may need an app user ID, transaction identifier, or other information to locate a pseudonymous record.
9. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- request a portable copy of information; or
- complain to your local privacy or data-protection authority.
You may also disable permissions in iOS Settings, turn off notifications, delete app content, or uninstall Day Bloom. We will not discriminate against you for making a privacy request.
10. Legal bases and international processing
Where applicable, we process information to provide the app and paid features under our contract with you, with your consent, to comply with law, and for legitimate interests such as security, analytics, reliability, and product improvement. Our providers may process data in Malaysia, the United States, the European Union, and other locations where they operate, using lawful transfer safeguards where required.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your device with an iOS passcode and avoid including information in support emails that you do not want us to receive.
12. Children
Day Bloom is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in their country to consent to data processing. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Day Bloom, our providers, or applicable law changes. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date. We will provide additional notice when a change materially affects your privacy rights where required.
